Q: After I purchase your module, what do I do next?

Our Modules are distributed through dignuke.com.  You should receive an automated email from the DotNetNuke Store with your order information.  Follow these steps to download and activate the production version of your purchased product.

Register a new license

  1. Login to DigNuke.com, create an account if you don't have one yet.
  2. Go to the Licenses page, Click on the "Register New License" tab.
  3. Enter your DotNetNuke Store Invoice # and click "Register License".
  4. Go to the Downloads page and download the Production Version of your module.
  5. If you are currently using the Trial version, then Install the Production version of the module OVER the existing trial module.  DO NOT uninstall the trial module, if you do, you will delete all your module settings and data.  If you are not using the trial version, then simply install the Production version onto your site.
  6. In your module go to the License tab under the admin and activate your license.

Renew an Existing License

  1. Login to DigNuke.com, make sure you use the same account you originally registered your license with.
  2. Go to the Licenses page and Click on the "Renew Existing License" tab.
  3. Enter your DotNetNuke Store Invoice #
  4. Select the product purchase you are renewing.
  5. Click "Register Renewal".
You will now be able to download updates to your renewed module.

Licensing

Q: After I installed my module, I don't see a License tab.

You have to be logged in as a Host level Super User to see the License tab.  Regular Admins and users will not see the License tab.

Q: Does the module stop working after my subscription expires?

No.  The module continues to function on your site, it will not stop working or lose functionality in any way.

Q: Does your license allow development and staging servers?

Yes.  With an Enterprise or Source subscription you can setup as much staging and development sites as you wish.  With Professional you can setup staging and development sites in the same DNN instance as your production instance.

If you want to setup a staging and development site with the Standard license or on a different server with your Professional license, you need to do the following:

  1. Install the production version of the module on your staging or development site.
  2. Try to activate it.  It will fail, but it will log the failure on our server.
  3. Contact Us with the name of your staging server and we will add to the failed activation as an exception in our system.
  4. Activate again and it will allow use of the module on the staging or development server.

The same applies if you setup your staging or development server first, and you want to move it to production.

Q: Error: This is a trial build on a production license

You can not install a Trial build using a production License.  You have to login into DigNuke.com with the account you registered your subscription license under and download the latest Production release and install it.  This error happens when you are running a Production version that is licensed then install a trial version on top of it.

Q: How do I download updates modules I have purchased?

Go to the downloads page.  If your subscription has expired, you will not be able to download the latest production versions.

DO NOT install a trial version on your site if you already have a working production version.  This will render the module unworkable.

Q: What happens to your modules when I want to switch servers?

You module should remain activated as long as everything stays the same except for the hardware.  If a license does fail from moving to another server, the front end of our modules do not shut down, so the user facing portion will still work.  Only the Admin side of our modules will stop working.  Once you move it to the new server, if the license fails all you have to do is re-activate the module in the License tab.  Since the domain name is the same, it will re-activate without any issues.

Q: What happens when my subscription expires?

The modules you have installed will still work.  If you have Professional, Enterprise or Source editions, you can still continue to install and activate on new portals with the last version you downloaded from dignuke.com.

The only thing you can't do when your subscription expires is download the latest builds of our modules.

Q: What happens when there is a problem with my license on my server?

If there is a problem with your license, say you switch domain names or database servers, the user facing front-end of the module will NOT shut down.  The front-end will still completely work so there is no interruption to your users.  The Admin portion of the module will not work until the license issue is resolved.
