Hi,

Working great with WLW, but having a few problems with the Firefox scribefire (http://www.scribefire.com/) plugin.

I get the following message when trying to connect via http://domainname/DesktopModules/Di...amp;meta=x

"The server returned a malformed response.  Please check that your blog and API URLs are correct."

Any ideas?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,
digMeta is designed and tested to work with WLW only, but let me look into it. I tried a bit and got it to connect, but it's having a problem with the date when I post an entry. Give me a bit.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick response.

Must admit that I thought that digmeta was a generic metaweblog api implementation and not only for WLW (for which it works like a dream!).

Would be great to get it working with other blog authoring tools like scribefire.

Thanks,

James

Hi Mike, did you get any further with this?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,
Yes I have, sorry for the lack of updates. digMeta uses the XML-RPC dll from cookcomputing. XML-RPC is the communication layer between the blog editor (in this case scribefire) and digMeta. The xml-rpc dll thinks that the publish date from scribefire is a non-standard date. xml-rpc will support the nonstandard date however it would require a modification to the xml-rpc. I have contacted the author at cookcomputing to verify there is no way to enable the non-standard date parsing without modifying the dll in the manner in which digMeta uses the dll. That being said, I could give you a special build of the xml-rpc dll if you are interested.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, I'd be interested if this would then work with Scribefire.

Cheers,

James

1. Backup your existing CookComputing.XmlRpcV2.dll in your bin folder.

2. Replace the dll with the one attached.

3. When creating the connection with scribefire, you need to select "Custom Blog", then select the "MetaWeblog API",   The API url will be the same as the home page url, except you need to replace "site.ashx" with "meta.ashx".  For example:

CookComputing.XmlRpcV2.zip
