Great product. It makes updating a DNN weblog much easier.

I have the following question: how can you deal with summary and details more intelligently, now I can say the first 200 chars are the summary but that is for all articles. How can I deal with this on an article by article basis.

Is it possible to define a kind of seperator? so that a poster can enter this?

Hi Peter,
I think you are confusing 2 different things. A "split post" does exactly what you are looking for. It provides a separator between the summary and the content. Check out the user guide it gives a good example. The cutoff is a option that you can use if the post doesn't come in with a "split post" or the "excerpt".

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
the "Split post" option is just awesome.
This makes it even possible to include images into the summary.

Now i'm only still missing the "featured" Feature to make it 100% useful for Ventrian's Newsarticles and to promote this to my users. Any timeline, when this will be available?

Thanks for this great update.

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks Joe!

Best case next week, worst case the following week by 9/16.

Thanks,

Mike

How can I turn on "split post" in Live Writer? In my installation it is turned off.

Hi Peter,

You have to put the included wlwmanifest.xml file in the root of your domain.  Put it in the same directory as default.aspx.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, can you clarify something for me. Does the file need to go at the root of the portal or the root of the installation?

If the dnn instalation is installed at c:\mydnninstalls\install1 \ does it go there or does it go into c:\mydnninstalls\install1\PortalName\

Just to confirm, it works for me after I inserted the file to the root of the installation folder. Not the root of the portal.

Great module !
