I want to use LiveWriter to publish my posts to digArticle, which apparently means I'm going through digMeta.  Many of my articles include video.  I'm running the website on my own server and clients are paying for access to these pages, so I don't want to use YouTube.  I want

When I click one of the "Insert Video" icons in LiveWriter, it gives me a dialog box that wants to upload the video to YouTube.  I don't want to upload to YouTube, I want to upload directly to my blog in the same way the "ADD MEDIA" button in DigArticle would do.

I looked through Live Writer and didn't see any way to set this up.

Any ideas?

Hi,
What format would you upload your video? digArticle currently does not do video conversion. I would like to eventual put it in. Then we would have to extend the [media] tags to do something like [media:video1] which would display the first video you uploaded.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
The most convenient would be .wmv or .flv , I can convert to any file format. I sometimes use mp4 as well.

But my problem is also in Live Writer. When you choose "Upload Video From File" it wants you to sign into YouTube and doesn't seem to have any settings to upload your video directly to the site where the blog is located. Do you know anything about that?

Thanks,
Brett

Hi Brett,
Unfortunately I have no control over WLW. It makes sense because WLW really has nothing to do with displaying videos, it's up to the blog application. Currently the only way to do it would be to maybe use a different blog editor, or a plugin for WLW that lets you upload videos are files. Then I would have to add an easy tag that you can put in your content, something like [video1] which will insert the first uploaded video into that position of your content.
Thanks,
Mike
