I've added the digFlash module - uploaded the sfw, fla, and html files created by Flash8 export facility to the 'images' folder of my site - referenced the sfw file in the digFlash settings within the module (also tried referencing the other two files) - and I get nothing but a blank white background.
What more am I supposed to do to display my flash movie? |

Hi Kevin, All you should need is the swf file. Make sure you select that file in digFlash and specify your width and height. That should be all there is to it! Is this a site I can look at? Thanks, Mike |

Yes Mike...and thank you for your quick response. The site is www.amadorgoldcorp.com and the module is on the following page -
http://www.amadorgoldcorp.com/Prope...fault.aspx
I am really perplexed as to why I'm not seeing the video. Perhaps I need to go back into Flash8 to see if I've made the mistake there. The video does run fine when I double click on the swf file from within file manager locally on my PC.

Hi Kevn, I'm having trouble accessing the swf file directly. Rename it, and take out the '&' symbol, and give that a shot. Thanks, Mike |

Mike, thanks for your continued interest. Sorry about the delay...I got side-tracked.
I've made the change to the file name as you requested. I also went back to Flash8 to see if there was anything obvious in the publishing of the video that I could have done wrong...but I just don't see it; there arn't that many settings to play with.
Any direction you give is really appreciated.

Mike...one other thing. When I go to file manager within the web site and double-click the file it brings up a Flash8 dialoge box, but it's just an empty white box.
If I go to the file on my hard drive and double-click it it bring up the video without any problem.
This is why I was thinking that I must be doing something wrong on a pretty fundamental level.
Is there something within Host Admin on our web site that I have to turn on in order for the swf to work from within dnn?

Mike, your comments are leading me to more closely examine the process by which I've created the swf file. One thing I would like to ask you about though...is a two minute file too large for a web viewer? Could this be my problem? I noticed in my Flash8 help that they recommend 10 seconds for a swf.

Hey Kevin,
I thought I would try to help out some. In my opinion acceptable length of a swf is relative to the situation. A large swf might taker longer to load but it will run just the same. With that in mind, how large is your final swf? It is possible that you are experiencing a load delay do to size. Why not try creating a really simple swf that is small and try it with digFlash. See if you can get it to load up. Also, you mentioned the word video when referring to the swf. Are you loading any external flv files? Externally loaded objects have security concerns which could keep them from being show. These are normally easily addressed.

Hi Mike - module looks great but I can't get it working. My swf file is loaded up and synchronised and I can see it http://oceanbeachbackpackers.com/po...w_as1.swf. I can also get it to work in a normal text/html module, but not with your one. The swf calls a small xml file to call up the images, could this be the problem? Regards N |

Hey nbc,
I am wondering if you are having problems with the xml path. Does your xml file live in the same folder as the swf? If not, maybe move it to the same folder to eliminate any path issues. Also, for kicks, you can try setting up a new swf that doesn't load an external xml file. Something simple that you can use to verify digFlash is embedding correctly.

I'm having similar problems, I can see the swf if i type it's address in the address bar, but it won't load in the digflash module, I just get a white screen, mine also references an xml file, which references images, any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Tried it with a standalone swf and it works. |
