In FF and IE7 the black menu bar directly beneath the main menu appears differently in each.  In IE7 it is fine.  In FF a white background shows instead of the light brown that is defined as the background in the settings.  Transparent is selected.  Please advise on how to fix this.

Sorry for the delayed response. I am having difficulty re-producing your issue. I am using IE7 and FF2 and both seem to display correctly. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
